Shona is a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication (NVC).
One aspect of NVC is to learn how to be clear about your feelings in a way that supports clarity, precision, and better communication with yourself as well as with each other.
In this interview, we will discuss the need to identify feelings as opposed to “faux feelings.” For example, you might say, “I feel ignored…” but the actual feeling that you are sensing might be an emotion such as frustration or loneliness. We will explore why naming the feeling precisely matters and how it enables more effective communication. This will be an interactive session with role plays and plenty of time for questions.
This interview is a teaser for “How to Have Rational Conversations on Emotionally Charged Topics.” This is a 4-day intensive in Naples, Florida on November 9-12, 2023. Read more here.
